Waleed Hazbun

Waleed Hazbun is an Associate Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Studies and Public Administration, and Director of the Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies, at the American University of Beirut. Hazbun received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2002. He has published numerous scholarly articles on the political economy of tourism and US foreign policy; and is the author of Beaches, Ruins, Resorts: The Politics of Tourism in the Arab World (University of Minnesota Press, 2008). He is currently developing a new book project on the global politics of aviation.
