Musa McKee is working on the evolving relationship between development, security, trade and natural resources management, particularly across the MENA region. He has participated in conferences and workshops on food security in drylands, population growth and urbanisation, and the ‘water-energy-food nexus’. He has delivered political briefings for diplomatic missions across the Middle East, and currently provides policy support for regional implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda, having previously worked with the UN IMO, IMF and ESCWA. He recently submitted a PhD thesis to the Development Studies Department at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, on land and water management and policy reform in Egypt, with a specific focus on population growth, food security and desert land reclamation. He also holds an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, and speaks fluent English, Arabic and Spanish.
