GAZA_KARIM_Menara_Maps_14_Mesa de trabajo 1

The following map depicts the main access points to the Gaza Strip, the narrow territory where 2 million people (mostly refugees and young people) live in only 365 km2. Gaza’s residents have been increasingly isolated from the rest of the Palestinian territories and under direct Israeli military occupation from 1967 to 2005. Because of this pressing situation, Hamas took-over the Strip in 2007 and created a distinct governing authority. Israel’s government response was the imposition a comprehensive land-sea-air blockade on Gaza that continues until today, that has dramatically contributed to the total collapse of the formal economy a social and humanitarian catastrophe.
